about Chesterwye Center, Inc.
The Chesterwye Center is located at 110 Chesterwye Lane, Grasonville, Maryland in Queen Anne's County. Chesterwye was founded in 1967 by a group of concerned citizens interested in aiding and providing services to children with Intellectual Disabilities. Later, as the children grew older and as services were needed in the county, the focus of support was directed towards adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
Currently, Chesterwye provides a variety of services for over 70 adults with Intellectual Disabilities and employs more than 100 staff.
The ages of our "Individuals" receiving services ranges from 21 years old to 73 years of age. All Individuals living in Queen Anne's County are transported to and from our Day Center by Chesterwye owned handicapped vans and vehicles.
The management staff of Chesterwye averages 15 years of experience in the Intellectual Disabilities field. The medical needs of our "Individuals" are provided by a full time Nursing staff.
In 2009, we added a building addition to our original Day Center, which was built in 1980. The addition doubled the size of our existing area and includes a Nursing Station, 2200 sq. ft. all purpose room and a Commercial Kitchen.
